In science it's said that friction causes heat - and this is exactly what will happen when your feet hit the floor with Austin, TX based Chango's 'Friction' EP. "Lift it up" has FM synth hooks, rave stabs and analog reece basses are all over this track - the best surprise is how it moves from classic footwork to a dance-hall meets jungle banger - a primo mix of both styles with the signature Chango sound. If there was one track on this EP that is Chango's ode to Chicago, "The Movement" is it - smoky keys, sax stabs and a triplet 808 line that sounds like an android drum solo come together to make a late-night head-nodder. "What It Is" is Chango's DnB side shining brightly. The stomping snares and flangy kicks keep it tough while the amens and dreamscape pads are reminders of the early days of jungle. Watch out for that squelchy riff later on in the track. Rounding this EP out, "WO4" makes a proper dancefloor weapon - this track easily has the best use of an alarm throughout, and the vocal chops are next level. This here is a very suspenseful jam. If Jukin' or Jittin' is your thing, this track needs to be in your routines.
